- Actually, we do not like unions because the low skill jobs that are unionized get paid more with better benefits and has a lower work ethic than a person who has a good education and a skill that most people can't do. I believe that a high skill job deserves more money than a low skill job.

- I think that the real thing to look at is the work rules changes.  I think that ridiculous union work rules have been one of the bigger issues that has not gotten a lot of notice.

- I remember growing up in the Chicago area and watching Cat go on strike for well over a year in the early 1990's. The main sticking point was very similar to this.

CT-I agree with you...Unions had their place many years ago. They are not needed anymore. They do more harm than good, and create spoiled brats in the work force. It is ridiculous the rules (games) they play with jobs, they make a less productive work place. I was a Union member for 20 years and managed the last 10. Fortunately I new the how to play the game as a manager and deal with cry baby union reps. In the end, Unions are a thing of the past and are only a big business interested in taking some of the hard earned wages of the working person. If the UAW leaves, fades away and the worker loses $4.oo an hour, they won't lose anything because they pay more than that toward union dues!
